Students in the Local Sustainable Food Systems course at Sterling will again be preparing and serving dinner this Friday night in Dunbar Dining Hall. The meal runs from 4:30-6:00pm, and is free and welcome to anyone in the greater Craftsbury area. We will be celebrating the Eclipse this week with Blackened Chicken and Turkey, featuring chicken from Hillside Farm in East Albany, Vermont and turkeys grown by the Sterling Farm. This will be served with roasted sweet potatoes, and sauteed spinach from the Sterling Garden. Dessert will be Moon Pies!
Dinner will be followed by a presentation from 6-7 pm in Sterling's 1958 Room in Simpson Hall (the college building across from the funeral home). The talk "The Sky - And Beyond" with Mike Metcalf - local educator and NASA Teacher in Space finalist - will cover lore about comets, eclipses, and missions to space. All Welcome. Admission Free.
There will be a donation box out with all proceeds going to support the Sterling Tuition fund. These donations will go directly to financial aid for current and incoming students. As always, we also welcome any household items, clothing and books that are collecting dust in some forgotten corner.
We hope to see you there!
