Saw Safety Basics for Folks with Little to No Experience ~ Good Hands-On Introduction
- Fundamentals of safe operation: saw hazards, positioning body & mind
- Chainsaw reactive forces; wood composition; compression, tension & gravity; smart work efficiencies
- Supervised chainsaw practice: starting saw, downward and upward cuts, introductory felling and limbing, avoiding pinched saws and dull chains
- Good pre-course for Game of Logging Levels 1&2
- "Meet the Forest" mindfulness and gratitude practice of your choice held at the outset
Required Gear: approved chainsaw chaps or pants, boots, protection for vision, head, and hearing. Bring your own gas or electric saw in good running condition, or use one of ours.
