For several years now the Argyle Democrats, working with other local civic organizations, have been cleaning up a stretch of our road sides a couple times per year. Typically, after the snow banks have retreated, left behind have been varied amounts of trash; two years ago it was 14 large trash bags.

This year to compliment the Town of Argyle's town-wide cleanup day on Saturday, 13 April, we will be collecting trash along Rt-40 from the Village south to near Lick Springs Road. We will be meeting in the Argyle Presbyterian Church overflow parking lot at Barkley Ave at 10 am on the 13th. Typically, we are done by noon, if not earlier depending on the number of volunteers and the amount of trash. We will have a shuttle service to move folks around and bring folks back to the parking lot.

We hope you can join us in helping to clean up our community. Trash bags and a limited number of hard hats are available. Please wear bright clothing and or a safety vest to maximize your visibility. Work gloves, a pair of sturdy boots, and a grabber to help with picking up trash are also good additions to the wardrobe.
