Documentary Screening: Miles to Go Before She Sleeps

Past event
Apr 5, 2024, 5 to 8 PM

Meet filmmaker Faye Yuan and watch the independent Chinese documentary, "Miles to Go Before She Sleeps," about an idealistic schoolteacher who lays her life on the line to expose a nationwide dog theft ring that sends thousands of stolen pets to slaughterhouses. With the local police turning a blind eye, an ambush occurs in broad daylight.

Light refreshments will be served before the screening. Following the screening, we will have an engaging panel discussion about the ethics of eating animals, why individuals feel it is OK to eat some animals and not others, and culture.

This is a free event, open to the public!

Free parking in the parking lot next to the river. Follow event signs.
