All are invited for Duxbury Land Trust's 30th annual meeting and special presentation with Skip Flanders, " An Historical Perspective on North Duxbury"

In conjunction with Duxbury Land Trust's 30th Anniversary and recent acquisition of land at the base of Ridley Brook, Duxbury Land Trust's annual meeting will feature Skip Flanders, who will share a fascinating history of North Duxbury from the time of the town's founding families through 1950.

Using photos from his own collection and much historical research he will describe two Revolutionary War soldiers, one from Bradford, Vermont, the other a deserter from the British Army who fought for the Colonies. Where once there was a small but thriving village, complete with a railroad station, post office and an inn for tourists, that same land now has been conserved in perpetuity and will soon become a gateway to the Camel's Hump State Park. Skip Flanders is a retired engineer and lifelong resident of Waterbury with a long interest in local history. His family history includes numerous early settlers in Duxbury.

Refreshments will be served. For more information contact Catherine Gjessing, Board Chair, cjgjessing@icloud.com, (802) 595-3331
