Laurel Proctor-Mattingly, Montpelier mezzo-soprano, and Michael Sitton, Barre pianist, along with guest guitarist Greg Hayes, present "But they sing in my soul: Songs Awakening Spring" on Saturday, April 6 at 5 PM, at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier. The program includes pieces spanning centuries, including opera, romantic art song, musical theatre, and the Vermont premiere of a new song cycle composed by Sitton with texts by Vermont poet George Lisi. The pieces all share an acknowledgement of nature and our place within it. Suggested donation $15.
