Starksboro Solar Eclipse Party

Past event
Apr 8, 2024, 1 to 5 PM

Bring your lawn chairs and come view the eclipse with neighbors and friends on April 8th, from 1 to 5pm, on the Robinson School playground. Celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime event with food, music, activities, games, family and friends!

The viewing will be great from Starksboro's Town Center and the Robinson School playground. There's parking behind the Town Offices, at the school, and along Parsonage Road.

Come and enjoy a light meal, make a pinhole viewer, challenge yourself to Shoot the Moon, (croquet with a planetary theme), watch the eclipse through a telescope projection thanks to a local member of the VT Astronomical Society, enjoy the music – or just enjoy the action from your comfortable lawn chair.

We'll have solar eclipse glasses on hand - and don't forget to sport your Starksboro Path of Totality t-shirt for our group photo at 2:15 pm – shortly before the eclipse action really starts to happen!

For the icing on the cake, bring along your best eclipse pie, cookies, cupcakes, or cake to share with neighbors!

It would be helpful to know how many people are planning to come so we'll know how much food to provide. RSVP to Chris Runcie (runcie@gmavt.net), Peg Casey (pegcasey@hotmail.com), or let Amy McCormick (amy@starksborovt.org) know that you're planning to join in the festivities!
