Please join us for Holy Week at Newfane Church
3/27 at 5:30 pm: Our Holy Week gatherings will kick off with Bible study, at which we'll read Mark 16:1-8 and explore the Gospel's conspicuously abrupt, climactic ending, as well as the alternate endings that later editors of the text added to make it feel more...complete.
3/28 at 6:00 pm: During our Maundy Thursday service we'll remember Jesus's final hours and bear with the grief that the cruel, death-dealing force of systemic violence leaves in its wake.
3/29 at 5:30 pm: Drop in on Good Friday evening for a time of self-led quiet contemplation in the sanctuary as we hold silent vigil.
3/31 at 7:30 am: During our Easter "sunrise" service we'll briefly sing in celebration of new life and reflect on the new possibilities this brings (outside, by the pond behind the church).
3/31 at 8:15 am: We'll break bread (i.e., pancakes) together over a free celebratory breakfast.
3/31 at 9:30 am: Children of all ages are invited to join us on the Village commons for an Easter egg hunt.
3/31 at 10:00 am: We'll gather together in fulsome celebration of the fresh hope of resurrection and bear witness to the promise of everlasting life.
