The SFPL Board of Trustees is delighted to announce the appointment of our new Library director, Alissa Shethar.
Alissa has done many things in life, including working in libraries and developing special collections on the west coast. She has also worked as a linguistic anthropologist, teacher, translator, farmer, researcher, grant writer, cheesemaker, refugee advocate, and preschool "environmental interpreter" (i.e. she was the sandbox lady). She lives on a farm in Bridport with 60 sheep, assorted cats, dogs, chickens, and one very stubborn goat.
Alissa will start her new position on Tuesday April 9. An Open House to welcome her will be held at the library on the 9th from 4--5:30pm. All are invited to stop by to meet and welcome Alissa & enjoy some sweet treats!
