The Brandon Select Board / Budget Committee and Management team met in a open meeting Monday evening to craft a new budget. There was civil and respectful discussion that led to a large reduction in the proposed budget without cutting services to our citizens.

High Pond Road was removed from the paving list in the hope that class 2 State funds will be available next year. It was also decided that $100,000 of paving will come from our 1% Option tax. Additional savings came from the decision to only set aside funds for one new police vehicle and the elimination of mail- in election ballots. The end result was a reduction of $240,000 that lowered the budget by approximately 7%
