Dear Neighbors,
My apologies for the lateness of this preview. A series of extenuating circumstances occurred Friday and over the weekend and then, in the middle of last night, I realized I had not posted this preview. Again, my apologies.
Tonight, the City Council will convene its first of two meetings for the month of October.
We will begin our Council agenda at 7pm in Contois Auditorium with an annual report from the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission.
We have four resolutions on our deliberative agenda this evening. The first is a resolution recognizing John Dewey Day and the annual John Dewey Parade and Children's Event on October 20. The second is a resolution on the North Avenue Corridor Plan which is a plan that, among other things, will pilot a Complete Streets model on North Avenue testing three lanes with more inclusive bicycle lanes from Washington Street out to Plattsburg Avenue. The third resolution is an authorization to grant an easement to the CCTA for the development of a new transit center on St. Paul Street. The last resolution is a authorization to execute a contract for the update of the sidewalk inventory and assessment with Sally Swanson Architects.
Our last items include an update on Burlington Telecom and a Fiscal Status update. We will also have a report on the Fiscal Stability Bond.
We will then have council committee reports, comments from councilors and the Mayor.
Please keep in mind that you are welcome to come to a council meeting and speak to the Council on any subject you wish during our Public Forum which begins at 7:30pm.
