Mark your calendars! Bread & Puppet is returning to Barre's Old Labor Hall, 46 Granite Street on Saturday, March 30 at 4 pm with "The Hope Principle Show: Citizens' Shame and Hope in the Time of Genocide". Now in its 61st year, Bread and Puppet's visually rich, street-theater style performances are known for huge paper maché and cardboard puppets, music, dance, and slapstick as well as serious, provocative, topical content. "The Hope Principle Show" features a flock of cranes, frogs, caribou, dancing bears, bicycling, and chickens. As at all Bread and Puppet performances, the show will be followed by free servings of B&P founder Peter Schumann's renowned sourdough bread and aioli garlic butter.
Tickets will be sold at the door only: $20 and $15 for students and union members. Children under 12 are free. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
