Informational meeting on Jumping Worms - posting for UVM Extension Master Gardeners:

Jumping worms are an invasive species. When they invade, gardens, lawns and forests they can degrade the soil. Humans spread these worms without realizing it.

This talk will provide essential information on the identification of jumping worms, their impact on the environment, and actions to control their spread. Featured speakers: Dr. Josef Görres, Professor of Ecological Soil Management, and Maryam Nouri-Aiin, Postdoctoral Researcher, both from the University of Vermont's Department of Agriculture, Landscapes and Environment (formerly Plant and Soil Science), and Emily Johnston, Public Outreach Coordinator, Addison County Solid Waste Management District.

Free event, donations appreciated for facility rental.
