In Person - Screening of Film, "Beyond Bars"

Past event
Mar 28, 2024, 7 to 8:30 PM

Our next Social Justice Discussion is coming up next week:
Thursday March 28 from 7:00-8:30

The topic has changed as the scheduled speaker has had a conflict arise – we'll be rebooking the discussion on Access to Child Care later in the year.

But we hope you'll join us this month IN PERSON at the library to view the film Beyond Bars, a "documentary about Chesa Boudin, San Francisco's left-leaning district attorney who was deposed by a recall campaign in 2022 after only about eighteen months in office. Through the frame of Chesa's backstory, Greenwald touches upon many pressing issues: mass incarceration, racism, grassroots political campaigning, the influence of big money in elections, childhood, parenting, and more." We'll have a few discussion questions to follow the film. Registration not required. Hope to see you next Thursday March 28.
