The Newbury Historical Society invites you to a "sweet" event celebrating Newbury's heritage of maple sugar-making. Harold Carleton, a 6th generation sugarmaker, is opening his sugar house on his Tucker Mountain Maple Farm. He will be demonstrating the process involved in turning sap to syrup and how it has evolved over the 150 years his family has lived on the Tucker Mountain Maple Farm.
* Where: 294 Tucker Mountain Road (at the junction of Tucker Mountain & North roads) in West Newbury.
* When: Saturday, March 30th from 1:00 - 4:00.
* What: a FREE family-friendly event that will feature a guided tour and demonstration in Harold's sugar house. Also included:
- A display of historical photos & memorabilia;
- Maple syrup tasting with doughnuts for dunking;
- Jugs of maple syrup available for purchase.
Signs will be posted showing where to park. Those needing ADA accessibility are invited to park directly in front of the sugar house.
