The Lamoille Valley Olli welcomes historian and museum curator Dr. Carrie Brown discussing the women of one hundred years ago, pre Rosie the Riveter, who rolled up their sleeves and entered war industries where they had never before been welcome. They ran powerful machinery, learned new skills, and faced the sullen hostility of the men in the shops. This illustrated talk reveals their courage and hard work and explores how these women helped shape the workplaces that their more famous daughters would enter during the next World War.
