If you have a student chess player (grades K-12), Craftsbury Academy is hosting the 37th Annual Vermont State Scholastic Chess Championships on Saturday, March 23rd. From our experience, this tournament (previously held in Berlin, VT) is a long day (with multiple rounds), but it can be a great experience, as children who love chess find "their people," playing and talking chess all day (even games between games).
