Our regular series of excellent contra dances continues this Saturday, March 16. Our caller will be Dereck Kalish, from the Boston area, with live, excellent dance music from Vermont's own Atlantic Crossing band. This excellent band features Viveka Fox on fiddle, bodhran and djembe, Peter Macfarlane on fiddle, mandolin and low whistles, and Rick Klein on guitar, keeping the dance rhythms going.
Come by about 7:30 so you can change or clean your shoes for the refresher/instruction lesson (taught by Dereck) about 7:40, and then enjoy dancing from 8:00 to 11:00, with a mid-way break. Please bring clean, non-marking shoes to protect our beautiful VT maple dance floor. We also recommend a water bottle to stay hydrated. Masks are not required, but we provide some if you want. The Capital City Grange Hall, which is located at 6612 VT 12, Berlin VT 05602 has an excellent exhaust fan to keep the dance ventilated.
Admission: choose the price that matches you--$12 for regular adult-type people, $5 for kids or low-income people, or $20 if you want to help us pay the band, caller and sound really well!
