On Saturday, April 6th, an apple tree grafting workshop will be held from 10am to 12pm at the Red Schoolhouse on the VTSU Randolph campus. This workshop will begin with a power point talk and Q&A that will cover the history and different uses of this important plant propagation technique.
The workshop will be led by Russ Patton, an apple enthusiast with a combined 16 years of experience in the fields of horticulture and arboriculture. After ample practice, each person will leave with two grafted dwarf apple trees to take home, with scions collected from apples trees at the VTSU Randolph orchard. Participants are welcome to bring cuttings from a favorite apple tree. The cost is $40 and is limited to 12 people.
