The first Slow Food Vermont Farmer's Market will take place on Wednesday, August 28th from 2:30-6:30pm in City Hall Park.

The Slow Food Vermont Board Members are very excited to present to you a new kind of Agricultural Farmer's Market that will run every Wednesday starting on the 28th of August through September 25th. This market is community-run and based on Slow Food's principles of Good, Clean and Fair. The focus is on small-scale farmers and artisan producers. It is paramount at this market that the vendors only sell products that they have produced themselves, thus emphasizing an educational component often lost in larger-scale markets. It is important that these local producers have an opportunity to talk about their goods face-to-face with consumers regarding; quality, work involved and how their fair prices are justified. These products help to preserve the food culture of Vermont and contribute to defending biodiversity.
