Please join us Saturday, March 9th, 1-5pm for a "Pupusas for Palestine" event to raise funds for Palestinian aid organizations at the New Suns Community Center in North Thetford. Come and donate to organizations providing direct humanitarian assistance while sharing a meal with community members who are concerned about what's happening in Palestine. Pupusas, a traditional dish from El Salvador, are thick corn tortillas that can be stuffed with various fillings. For this event, pupusas will be filled with cheese and loroco, an edible flower that has an asparagus-like taste.
We encourage people to donate directly to Palestinian aid organizations. We'll have QR codes for various organizations' donation webpages including Palestine Children's Relief Fund, Palestine Red Crescent Society, ANERA, & UNRWA. We will accept cash donations as well. Suggested minimum donation of $20, but donations of all sizes are welcome. Our goal is to surpass $1,000 in donations, $500 has already been pledged so we are half-way there! This event is sponsored by Northeast Farmers of Color Land Trust, Radical Imagination and Community Resilience Organizations.
