The First Annual CCI Cabin Fever Music Series events are happening in Cornish in March. Come out and enjoy folk, jazz, and community drumming with your friends and neighbors. All events are free with donations gratefully accepted at the door for the Cabin Fever Music Series to support future activities. Saturday, March 9 - Joshua Hall Alternative Folk Music, 730 pm
Joshua Hall has been described as a Zen-Metal-Freak-Jazz Guru. He is a classically trained guitarist whose playing style owes as much to Barrios and Tarréga as Mustaine and Monk. He is an Alternative Folk Artist whose songs engage the listener to feel and think deeply, to find the reverence in everyday life, and to question the stories that define so much of the modern world.
Saturday, March 16 - Draa Hobbs Jazz Trio, 700 pm
The Draa Hobbs Trio performs a wide variety of jazz from unique interpretations of well known standards to classics by Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Miles Davis, Benny Golson, and numerous others. In addition to performing throughout the Northeast including Boston and New York, Hobbs has performed in Paris, Munich, and several other cities in Europe. Hobbs is also a composer and will feature compositions from his most recent CD. The Draa Hobbs Trio is: Draa Hobbs, guitar; Wim Auer on bass; and Sam Lazarro on drums.
Saturday, March 23 - Community Drum Circle - Instruction 530 pm, Circle 630 pm
Steve Rice, music director at Brattleboro Union High School, will lead the community drum circle, an incredible rhythmic event generated by the creativity, unity, and intent to play music together, by a collection of people of any age, interest, and ability. This is a fabulous team building, community event and experience for any group like no other.
