On Saturday March 9 (8:30 AM - Noon), I will be leading a small work crew to prune and release wild apple trees on the Huntington Community Forest. Enhancing and maintaining the vigor of these trees is, of course, beneficial to many wildlife species.
I intend to give a short tutorial on apple tree pruning. The work will be in the lower part of the Community Forest (around and above the VAST trail), a short walk from the school parking lot.
We have 3 or 4 folks signed up and have room for a few more. If interested please, email me @ joe2ski@madriver.com or call at (802) 434-3481. I will soon send out a group email on details, including tools to bring. I have a few extra Wheeler Pruning Saws but participants with their own pruning saws, bow saws, and loppers can bring them.
Should be a fun and satisfying work 1/2 day where we will eventually see the fruits of our labors.
