The Green Mountain Homeschool Robotics team based here in Williston and representing kids from Colchester, Jericho, Williston, and Fletcher would like to thank everyone for their continued support to help get this little team to The World Championship in Houston Texas this April 17-20th!
If you are interested in seeing what the robot looks like, viewing a run, meeting the team members and seeing their innovation project (creating a stone carving app for the blind and visually impaired) come and see them in action and cheer them on!
Where: Dorothy Alling Memorial Library
When: March 15th 4-5pm
Currently there is a great need for more kids to focus on technology and engineering as they grow up so that they can consider these areas as possible future careers in Vermont. In our small State, one way to increase this critical STEM pipeline is for more kids to participate and see their peers participate at the most competitive level of technical challenges. The Green Mountain Homeschool Robotics is a product of having members believe they can participate at the highest levels, and they, in turn, can be role models for VT kids who will see they can do it as well. If our team can, all teams can.
WCAX did a short story about the 5th/6th grader team and this year's Innovation project, which they will present Houston. You can view the video (2:30 minutes) at the following URL:
