Join the Hinesburg Artist Series on March 17th for choral and orchestra performances to soothe the soul and lift the spirits. Selections include A Song of Peace, May the Road Rise to Meet You, and Spirit Suite II, and each concert ends with an inspiring performance of Dan Forrest's Requiem for the Living.
Usually a requiem is written and performed to honor the dead. Requiem for the Living is instead written as a balm for those that remain. "Requiem" means "rest", after all, something that is needed by the living just as much as earned by those who have left us.
The South County Chorus and HAS Orchestra will be joined by guest artists soprano Cristina Escobedo and tenor Cameron Brownell, and soloists Gary Moreau, baritone, and Jiwon Lee, cellist, under the direction of Rufus Patrick. You will not want to miss the soaring performances that these guests will share with us: Te quiero digiste and The Silver Aria, Simple Song from the Mass by Leonard Bernstein, a stunning arrangement of Be Thou My Vision… And our HAS Orchestra has several Irish jigs to share to lift your spirits in honor of St. Patrick's Day!
