Ukrainian tradition of decorating Easter eggs known as pysanky. Decorating them has become a gesture of peace, as the Ukraine war has brought new meaning to an old tradition that dates back to pre-Christian times.

The name for these Easter eggs—pysanka in the singular and pysanky as plural—is derived from the Ukrainian verb pysaty, which means "to write," or писати in Ukrainian. So in this case, the word refers to the writing on the eggs.

We welcome you to join us
*******************************
The Oasis Lounge or as many have recently referred to as the "Cat Cafe" has a couple of weeks left in our Greenhouse space as the spring plants are arriving daily...
Take advantage of this unique, cozy space during these days of cold.

This space is open Monday-Saturday 9:30-5 to everyone at anytime for most any reason.
Many people pour a coffee, grab a bite to eat and 'plant' themselves on one of the many places to sit. They read, work on their laptops (yes, there is WIFI), paint, knit, draw, strum guitars, pet cats (there are two cats and 2 dogs too but mostly 1 - Trooper), play cards, etc.

Fresh pastry and coffee/tea is available everyday from many of our Cottage Bakers, including our newest baker and friend Sara Ronn, who is baking up some extraordinary Swedish Fikabrod for us on Saturday Mornings; if you have not had her pasty I do encourage you try.

This Saturday 3/2 will be a Swedish Kanelbullar; yeasted cinnamon buns that are soft and chewy with a buttery almond paste and cinnamon sugar filling, twisted into sweet, delicate knots. Yes! Yes! So delicious!!!

As a daily reminder Reading Greenhouse does offer hot coffee brewing @abracadabra coffee Dark Times and Hot water for Tea or Hot Chocolate (there are even marshmallows and Honey)...

TaTa for now...Spread the good news throughout the land...
