Youth and Community Engagement Night

Past event
Mar 14, 2024, 5:30 to 7 PM

We are excited to invite parents, caregivers, students, and community members to the second Youth and Family Engagement Team meeting on March 14th 2024, from 5:30pm-7:00pm at Vergennes Union Elementary School, 43 East Street, Vergennes! Whether you joined us for the first meeting or not, all are welcome!

This team is a space for families, caregivers, and community partners to join with VUES students to work together to create a more inclusive school community. The team will engage in activities that explore topics such as community, belonging, shared values, and equity in our schools. Guided through a process called Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR), which includes analyzing data and action planning, the team is a chance for families and community members to collaborate with students in thinking about what education can be in our schools.

Youth from the VUES Personal Power and Community Connections (P2C2) team will be co-facilitating activities and discussion with partners from the organization UP for Learning.

There will be a free take-and-make meal kit for all who pre-register for the event. This meal kit will be available for you to take home, prepare, and enjoy after the event. Childcare is available.

This is a free event. Please RSVP via this Google Form https://forms.gle/SBvHW4itqR54pbjV7
