A Simulation event for community members...Walking in the shoes of those released from prison. Join fellow community members for an exciting interactive event, which simulates the experience of formerly incarcerated individuals returning to the community. This free event allows participants to develop a greater and much clearer understanding of the tasks and demands placed upon an individual leaving prison and returning to life outside. By "walking in the shoes" of a returning prisoner, each participant will be exposed to the stressors and conflicting priorities these individuals must negotiate to avoid violating the conditions of their release and re-establish themselves as full members of the community. Come play the role and learn what it's like--through hands-on experience! You will also have a chance to hear from 2 Circle of Support and Accountability (CoSA) teams and their core members (formerly incarcerated individuals).
Thursday, October 16, 2014: 4:30-8:30 PM at Alumni Hall (connected to Barre Auditorium).
This event is free of charge. Participants MUST register by October 14th. Call 476-0276 or register online at www.gbcjc.org.
Sponsored by the Greater Barre Community Justice Center, Barre Partnership, and Barre City for citizens of the greater Barre area. See you there!
