The Tunbridge Historical Society’s annual Ghost Walk will be this Sunday at 1:30 at Hutchinson Cemetery south of the fairgrounds on Howe Lane. The rain date is Oct. 19.
Visitors will meet the first Tunbridge minister, David Williston, and the first doctor, Jabez Cowdrey. Veterans include Revolutionary War soldier Jonathan Foster and the cemetery’s only Civil War soldier, Henry Smith.
Other “ghosts” include Miriam Hutchinson; early settler Seth Paine, who gave the town the land for both the cemetery and the No. 1 School next door; Benjamin Cushman, founder and owner of the brick kiln below Tunbridge Village; and Hannah Farnham.
