Walk & Bike to School Day at Rusty Parker Park

Past event
Oct 8, 2014, 7 to 7:30 AM

On Wednesday, October 8 local students, parents, and community members will participate in Vermont Walk & Bike to School Day in Waterbury. All ages and all community members are welcome! At 7:00 AM everyone will gather at Rusty Parker Park for a free breakfast provided by Waterbury in Motion.

At 7:15 AM, after everyone samples coffee, juice, bagels, cider doughnuts, and fruit, we will divide up into four groups. One group will walk to Thatcher Brook Primary School, and another will bike to TBPS. Two similar groups will depart for Crossett Brook Middle School. Each of the four groups will be guided by adult volunteers. Kids and adults alike can come enjoy the exercise and being outside with friends and neighbors on a lovely spring morning.

This event is part of Thatcher Brook Primary School and Crossett Brook Middle School’s continuing efforts to encourage their students to be physically active. Waterbury in Motion is an advocacy group of local volunteers working to develop a safe, active, and accessible bike/pedestrian system in Waterbury and the surrounding area. If you’d like to help with this event, or participate in other similar efforts please contact Duncan McDougall at duncan@clifonline.org
