SALEM APRIL FOOLS RACE IS ON!
The baton has been passed for the April Fools Race, in Salem, April 13!
It's hard to imagine runners of all ages gathering at Salem Washington Academy for the April Fools Race, without Dan Sheldon coordinating this annual event. That's because he and his fellow Salem Rotarians have been partnering with Salem School to offer the April Fools Race for the last 42 years. So many folks in Salem and all the surrounding communities wish to thank Dan, the Salem Rotary Club and all the Salem School volunteers for their years of service to the April Fools Race. Fortunately, the Race lives on! Dan Snyder, a Salem parent and runner, Krista Sullivan, Director of the Historic Salem Courthouse, Wyeth Coburn, parent and Salem Town Board member, and Erin Underwood, Teacher and Advisor for the Class of 2026, have stepped up to run the event, along with many other volunteers. The Historic Salem Courthouse is glad to be the community partner with Salem School. Several generous local individuals, businesses and organizations have pledged financial support for the project. This is the fifth community-wide event that the Courthouse has recently taken on. The others are the July 4th Parade, the Carnival, the Back-to-School Picnic and Trunks & Treats.
