Calais Emergency Management Team is excited to be hosting the Red Cross Shelter Simulation Training in a few weeks. Saturday, March 9th, 12:30 pm at the Calais Elementary School. This is a rare opportunity to get PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE and promote teamwork through interactive group activities that correspond to operating a shelter. Even if you're only able to help out for a few hours during an emergency, this hands-on training will provide the knowledge and confidence needed to jump right in.
Keep in mind that an emergency shelter is often used by folks who need to charge devices, use the internet, get water, stay warm or cool and gather with community members to support one another.
