For Coverts Cooperators and forest admirers: come visit Foxglove Farm and Forest for a discussion on Family-Focused Forest Stewardship, including family engagement and participation in forest stewardship, long-term forest management for future generations, legacy planning and maple syrup production! The 68 acre property is a certified Tree Farm at the intersection of the northern and southern Green Mountains, the Champlain Valley, and the Taconics. The land hosts a rich diversity of plant and animal species and habitats; including a large beaver pond and the headwaters to Seymour Brook. We'll tour the property and 500 tap Audubon-certified Bird Friendly sugarbush to discuss diverse management goals on the property, including maple syrup production, timber harvesting, wildlife habitat, water quality and flood mitigation, recreation and hunting, biodiversity, and carbon storage. We'll end the walk at the sugarhouse for a maple-themed brunch potluck! Please plan for uneven and wet terrain. Families including children are welcome.
