Climate change: The local chapter of Third Act, a national movement of people 60 and older addressing climate change and democracy, will meet on Friday, Feb. 22, 7-8:30 pm at the West Newbury Hall, 219 Tyler Farm Road, West Newbury. All are welcome no matter your age and no prior engagement is necessary.

The guest speaker on Friday is Vanessa Rule, the Co-Director and Lead Organizer of 350VT. This organization works at the intersections of climate change and social justice to ensure an equitable and thriving world.

350VT strives to engage communities, businesses, and political leaders to transition Vermont away from fossil fuels and toward accessible, low-carbon energy sources.

Vanessa's talk will focus on the power of local organizing and how to turn concerns about climate change into impactful action. She'll give an overview of 350VT, its relation to Third Act, and share some ideas about actions our group can take collectively to advance our mission.

For more information, please call 802 505-5281. The Hall is handicap accessible and there will be refreshments because when things seem bleak, there is joy to be had in taking action with others.

Parking is available at the church across the street from the Hall.
