As September has been declared National Preparedness month, the Northwest Vermont Medical Reserve Corps is focusing on personal preparedness. One of its members had an experience this summer, in a remote setting outside of the United States, that drove home the need for everyone to know basic first aid. How you respond immediately following an accident can literally save a life. Therefore the Northwest VT MRC is offering a Red Cross First Aid course to community members on Thursday, October 9th at 6:30PM at the St. Albans State Police Barracks on Route 104. If you would like a Red Cross certification certificate there will be a $19 charge to cover that cost. Please RVSP with Chad Spooner at (802) 527-5572 or chad.spooner@state.vt.us Be prepared. You never know when the next disaster will strike. Helen Short, Northwest VT MRC Coordinator
