Craftsbury's efforts to improve Town Meeting will be featured Thursday at Noon on Vermont Edition, hosted by Mikaela Lefrak, FM 107.9 or 88.5.

As you may know, following last year's Town Meeting, the Select Board formed a task force to investigate how we might increase democracy in Craftsbury, particularly focusing on changes we might make to how Town Meeting operates and whether to adopt Australian Ballot for voting. That work led to the two big public meetings that the Freedom and Unity Task Force sponsored on Oct 17 and Nov 5 at the Craftsbury Library. Partly as a result of those meetings, the Select Board placed Article 16 on the Warning for this year's Town Meeting that calls for Craftsbury to elect its town officers (e.g. Select Board, Town Clerk, Auditors, etc.) by Australian ballot.

Susan Clark, who advised our Task Force, will join Wendy Turnbull, chair of the Task Force, and Select Board Member Susie Houston, to discuss changes some Vermont towns are making to their Town Meeting Day traditions.
