She'll also explain why the party you vote in Vermont primaries is secret—except for presidential primaries, like the one coming up in March.

Despite temperatures in the 40s this week, the Hardwick Recreation Board is holding a winter festival this Sunday, from 9 am to noon. Jason Bahner serves in local government as the town's recreation coordinator; he'll give us a preview of the plans and their contingency plans if snow cover and ice prove elusive after this week's February thaw.
