Mark your calendar for the upcoming talk on the restoration of the East Monitor Barn.

The Richmond Historical Society will be holding its Annual Meeting and Program on March 10, 2024 at 3 PM in the Community Room of the Richmond Free Library. In addition to a brief summary of the activities of the Historical Society and the election of officers for 2024, there will be a program, presented by Eliot Lothrop of Building Heritage. Eliot is the lead restorationist of the multi-year project to restore the VYCC's East Monitor Barn. Built in 1901, the barn, one of the largest dairy barns in the state, was in need of a major restoration effort. Once the restoration is completed, the East Monitor Barn will house the administrative offices of the VYCC, thus allowing the West Monitor Barn to be used as housing for the many young adults that participate in the VYCC's conservation and sustainable agriculture programs.
