With support from NRCS, land stewards in Vermont can respond to climate change and contribute to climate solutions. In 2024, NRCS is increasing Climate-Smart Agricultural and Forestry Mitigation Activities eligible for funding under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Environmental Quality Incentives (EQIP) and Conservation Stewardship (CSP) programs. The IRA is allocating nearly $20 billion over five years to NRCS to address oversubscription in popular conservation programs across the nation.
Come learn about the eligible practices and how to apply for funding.
Practices like:
---Compost Bedded Pack waste storage facility
---Roof structure placed over a waste management facility to
capture biogas and reduce odor
---Replace an existing on-farm mobile device (i.e., tractor, loader, forklift, etc.) powered by an internal combustion engine with a new mobile device powered by an electric motor
---Restoration of streams and associated floodplains using low-tech structures (such
as beaver dam analogs or other stick-and-stone structures) to kick-start natural
ecological and hydrologic processes.
