The Four Foundations of Mindfulness
Offered by The Burlington Shambhala Center
The Buddha taught the Four Foundations of Mindfulness as the essential meditation practice on the path of undoing unnecessary strain and struggle. He taught that our basic situation is that we are involved in a continual struggle to survive and maintain our self-image. This fixed image of ourselves then leads to confusion, anxiety, friction, and conflicts of all kinds. This course is aimed at learning to see the details of how we do this, and then more importantly how we begin to undo it.
