Salisbury Town Meeting… Saturday March 2nd in the gymnasium at the Salisbury Community School on Kelley Cross Road. Doors open at 1:30pm, meeting begins at 2:00.
I have been wracking my brain to find just the right phrase to entice you to come to town meeting. In reality though, there is only one reason to come to town meeting and that is to participate in the running of the town; the town where you are raising your family, the town where your children attend school, the town where you recreate, walk your dog, watch the sunset… the town where you are living your life.
True, we don't vote on much at town meeting these days, but it still is a place to meet and discuss the issues of the day, a place to ask questions, learn about the issues coming up for a vote on March 5th, a place to meet many of your neighbors who volunteer to guide the town in a variety of areas, who make decisions on behalf of the town, who keep the business of the town running smoothly. In short, the people who are influencing the current and future direction of the town.
There will be lots of time to socialize. After the meeting, there will be a potluck finger food/dessert social. Please bring something delicious to share. Beverages will be provided. This is a community event so bring the kids along too. Childcare will be available. On behalf of the town meeting planning committee, we hope to see you there!
