Eat, Drum, Dance! Shidaa Projects brings West African Drumming and Dance to Barre!

On March 9, 2024 Shidaa Projects Inc. will host Eat, Drum, Dance! a celebration in honor of Ghana's Independence Day. This event will start with a performance by world renowned dancer and choreographer Samuel Maama Marquaye joined by Shidaa's Artistic Director Jordan Mensah and their music and dance troupe. Following the show we will serve a traditional African meal of Joloff Rice and chicken, with a vegetarian option, then dance the night away to DJ'd West African music with the possibility of some drums joining in.  Over the course of the evening you may learn some facts about how Independence Day is Celebrated in Ghana and more.

Eat, Drum, Dance! takes place from 6 to 9pm at the Barre UU Church, 19 Church Street, Barre. The meal will be served between 7:00-8:00 and is first come first served. You can reserve a meal by visiting: https://forms.gle/kFRW9MkrNTrtGz8r6
