Students from the ADL Middle School 8th grade class are raising money for their field trip to Washington, DC this April with Essex Junction Recreation and Parks. Please help them in saving for their trip by gathering your bottles and cans for a Bottle Drive this Saturday, October 4. Students will be collecting these items in Essex Junction neighborhoods between 10am and 2pm; you can also drop off bottles and cans at the Maple Street Recreation Center this week or at River Road Beverage this Saturday between 10 and 2.
Trip participants are selling Buy Local Coupon Books for $20 each, featuring over $3,000 in savings to local, independently owned businesses in Chittenden, Lamoille, and Addison counties. You may also purchase a book at 75 Maple Street between 8am and 4pm Monday-Friday through October 31. Some of the businesses included in the Buy Local Book: Apple Mountain, City Market, Danforth Pewter, ECHO, Gardener’s Supply, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Outdoor Gear Exchange, Petra Cliffs, Vermont Tire & Service, and many more!
A portion of all money raised will go toward a scholarship fund to support students in need of financial assistance. If you are interested in making a monetary donation towards this outstanding educational experience, you may contact EJRP at 878-1375 or nfields@ccsuvt.org.
