The Calais Board of Abatement will meet Monday, February 12, at 5:00 pm at the Calais Town Hall to hear the following abatement requests:
> 5:00 Call to order, elect a Chair, signing of Board of Abatement oath, approve Minutes of 9/14/2022.
> 5:05 pm, Rebecca Downer: Request to abate 2023 taxes/fees/penalties of $4,198.68
> 5:20 pm, Craig Line: Request to abate 2023 taxes/penalties/fees of $4,024.58
> 5:35 pm, Request from Delinquent Tax Collector to abate delinquent tax amounts of under $5 per account owed in the total amount of $9.91
> Executive session to discuss requests

This meeting is open to the public. A Board of Abatement meeting is a quasi-judicial proceeding, which means that members of the public must be notified of the meeting but may only observe. The Board may hear only from the taxpayer, a Lister, or someone else from town government, or anyone called by the Board as a witness to provide information.
