The Dog River Trio presents Stabat Mater by Pergolesi, a fundraiser for the people of Gaza
Co-sponsored by Jewish Voice for Peace, VT-NH
"The Dog River Trio (Lillian Broderick soprano, Nessa Rabin mezzo-soprano, Alison Cerutti pianist) is planning a benefit performance of Pergolesi's Stabat Mater on February 18th at 3pm at [the United Church of Northfield (58 South Main Street Northfield, VT. Stabat Mater can be translated as "the sorrowful mother was standing," an image befitting the thousands of grieving mothers of Gaza who have lost their children in this brutal assault.
This benefit will raise money to support the people of Gaza who have been enduring a ceaseless and savage attack by Israel with the active support of President Biden and the U.S. government for over 115 days. Almost 30,000 people have died, more than two thirds of them women and children, tens of thousands more lie uncounted under the rubble, and schools, hospitals, housing, water and sewage treatment plants have been systematically destroyed. The entire population of 2.3 million has been displaced and those still alive, including newborns, children and the sick and elderly, are living outside in the cold and dying of hunger and infectious disease. This is a genocide. When Jews say "Never Again Is Now" to genocide, it means we stand with the people of Palestine and all people of conscience and demand a Ceasefire Now!
All funds will go to the Middle East Children's Alliance https://www.mecaforpeace.org/ which has been on the ground in Gaza for decades and is there now, supplying food, water and medicines through its staff and volunteers.
