Hi Neighbors!

There's been some recent conversation on our forum about the Neighborhood Code, and some questions that people have had about what it means and why it is happening. I've made a few posts to counter some of the claims that are circulating, but I wanted to let you know that this Wednesday from 12PM-1PM I've been invited by the Lena Greenberg for Ward 5 campaign to chat about Neighborhood Code during their weekly open-Zoom hour. I will give an overview of the ordinance and talk about the common misconceptions, and then Lena and I will open discussion about what it might look like for the South End and how City Council can use this new zoning tool to help Burlington address the housing shortage. Bring your questions, concerns, and ideas!

For those who don't know us, I advocate for housing and transportation policy as a member of the grassroots group Vermonters for People-Oriented Places, and I also sit on the coordinating committee for the Burlington Walk/Bike Council. Lena is a member of the steering committee for the Ward 5 NPA and is also a candidate for City Council in Ward 5.

If you can't join us on Wednesday but want to talk more with Lena, head to the house party this weekend from 3-5pm in the Addition. RSVP to events@greenberg.vote for the address!
