You are invited to walk, bike, volunteer, or contribute to the 1st Lake Champlain Islands CROP Hunger Walk/Ride on Sunday, October 26th at 1:00 PM.
What: CROP (CWS Hunger Prevention Program) walks have been going on in communities around the country for 40 years. These walks raise funds for local and international programs aimed at reducing hunger. Participants get either individual or team sponsors and do the walk. 25% of the donations go to local organizations (for us...Food for Thought and the Champlain Islands Food Shelf) and the rest goes to Church World Service to fight hunger domestically and internationally.
Where: Congregational Church of South Hero, 24 South Street, South Hero
When: October 26th
- 1:00 PM: register, turn in contributions
- 1:30 PM: kick off briefing
- 1:45 PM: walking/bicycling begins
How:
1. Get sponsor forms between now and Oct. 26 at the Congregational Church of South Hero.
2. Organize a team or join the walk individually at www.crophungerwalk.org
3. Get sponsors
4. Bring sponsor contributions with you at 1 pm on Oct 26.
5. Walk at your own pace for either the shorter (3 mile) or longer (5.6 mile) route or bike the bike route.
