This Saturday, February 3, we'll start with extra waltzing before the contra dances, and follow that with the usual instruction/refresher lesson. Come by 7:00 PM for the waltzing, which will happen until 7:45, with our dance band for the evening: Starling, which consists of Mo Brachfeld on fiddle, and Jared Kirkpatrick on mandolin, piano and foot percussion...plus more fiddle! They'll play the waltz music, and then shift time signatures to play contra dance tunes for your dancing enjoyment! Come to dance, as usual, at the Capital City Grange Hall, 6612 VT-12, Berlin VT 05602, just one mile south of Montpelier.

At 7:45, our dance caller, Liz Nelson will convene the instruction session for new contra dancers, and anyone who wants a "refresher" before full-scale contra dancing starts at 8:00, and continues until 11:00 PM, with only a little intermission.

We always love to have new folks join us! If you haven't been to a contra dance, check out some info about what its like, on the Grange website: http://capitalcitygrange.org/dancing/contradancing/. You can find lots of videos on YouTube if you search "contra Capital City Grange", and see lots of folks having a great time!

If you come for the waltzing, please make an additional $5 contribution to help us pay the band & sound for the extra time!
Contra dance admission prices: $12 for adults, $5 for kids & low-income folks, or be a "dance supporter" and give us $20, to help us pay the wonderful callers, musicians and sound techs for the great work they do. Choose what price matches your resources. We're happy to have everyone who comes, whatever you pay!

If you need to "fuel up" before all this dancing, please bring something to share, and join us at the Grange Community Potluck from 6:00 to 7:00. Lots of friendly people...and some great food is sure to show up!
