The days are getting longer and it's time to celebrate. Only nine more days until the "Reading Community Contra Dance"!
The Reading Recreation Commission will host a family-friendly, intergenerational "Reading Community Contra Dance" on Saturday, February 10 from 7-9 pm at the Reading Town Hall. There will be a potluck meal beginning at 6 pm, followed by dancing (with instructions) from 7-9 pm. If you plan to attend the potluck, please bring a generous dish to share. Beverages will be provided.
Contra dancing is easy, fun and requires no experience. If you're not laughing a bit, then you're probably taking it far too seriously! Renowned caller, David Millstone, will teach all of the dances and the toe-tapping band will feature Carol Compton on keyboard and Naomi Morse on fiddle and vocals. Soft-soled shoes are a fine choice for the evening.
Admission prices are $10/adult, $5/under 18 and $20/family.
