To all of the volunteers and community members who reached out to the House Human Services Committee - Your voice made a HUGE impact! The Committee received calls, letters, postcards, and emails from folks across the state urging support and last Friday, the Committee voted 10-0-1 in support of S.18!
You stepped up, and because of that, we are one step closer to decreasing the number of Vermonters addicted to nicotine/tobacco!
We still need your help to get this bill through the Vermont House! The tobacco industry knows that 95% of adult smokers start by age 21. They are working hard to tell lawmakers to vote no.
It's critical that lawmakers hear from us NOW! The week of February 5th, the House Committee on Ways & Means will be reviewing the financial part of the bill. On February 13 from 9:00 A.M.–12:00 P.M., Join youth from around Vermont on February 13th as they stand up and speak out against Big Tobacco! Schools and student groups from around the state are invited to attend! You can register (by February 5th) here.
